A Shabby Chic Dream: Stonestreet Apartment #3
A cozy vintage-inspired apartment filled with soft colors, romantic details, and timeless charm.
Hello, lovely Simmers!
Today, I'm delighted to share a closer look at one of my latest interior design projects in The Sims 4: a shabby chic makeover of Stonestreet Apartment #3 in Evergreen Harbor.
For this renovation, I wanted to create a home that feels warm, welcoming, and full of personality. I imagined a space where vintage furniture, delicate florals, soft colors, and charming little accessories come together to create an apartment that feels loved rather than perfectly staged.
The result is a cozy apartment featuring two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open-concept living room, dining area, and kitchen. Each space has its own character, but the entire home shares the same gentle, romantic aesthetic.
I've also included a reference list of the custom content used in the build, organized by room, so you can discover the furniture and decorative pieces that helped bring this little home to life.
A Little Shabby Chic Inspiration
Shabby chic has always been a lovely style for creating interiors that feel romantic without being too formal. It combines vintage-inspired furniture, traditional silhouettes, soft textiles, and decorative details with a relaxed, lived-in atmosphere.
For this apartment, I chose a palette of warm cream, beige, white, dusty pink, muted blue, and mint green. Light wooden flooring and white brick walls provide a neutral foundation, while the furniture, artwork, and accessories add warmth and character.
I also wanted the different areas to feel connected without looking identical. The living room has a more neutral palette with terracotta accents, while the dining area introduces mint green and rosy pink. These subtle differences help give each space its own personality while maintaining a harmonious overall look.
Custom content plays an important role in this renovation, allowing me to combine vintage-inspired objects, decorative clutter, traditional furniture, and delicate accessories to achieve the look I had in mind.
The Living Room: Cozy Vintage Charm
The living room is one of my favorite parts of this renovation. I wanted it to feel like a comfortable little retreat, somewhere my Sims could curl up with a good book, enjoy a quiet afternoon, or spend a cozy evening at home.
The cream-colored seating keeps the room light and inviting, while terracotta cushions add a little warmth. A distressed blue-and-beige rug introduces color and pattern without overwhelming the neutral palette.
One of the main focal points is the vintage-inspired butterfly artwork above the console table. I love how it complements the traditional furniture and decorative accessories, giving the room a romantic, collected-over-time feeling.
The console table is styled with books, flowers, and small decorative pieces, while the ornate birdcage and traditional floor lamp add even more character. The wood-burning stove completes the cozy atmosphere and gives the living room a lovely cottage-inspired touch.
I wanted the accessories to feel carefully collected rather than perfectly coordinated. To me, that is part of the charm of shabby chic interiors: a home should feel personal, comfortable, and full of little details that tell a story.
The Kitchen: Vintage Details with a Practical Layout
The kitchen brings a slightly different look to the apartment while remaining connected to the overall design.
White lower cabinets and pale countertops keep the space bright, while the dark blue upper cabinets introduce contrast and a little depth. The white brick walls continue the rustic character found throughout the living area.
I especially love the combination of open shelving, glass-front cabinets, kitchen accessories, and small decorative objects. Jars, containers, utensils, cookbooks, and vintage-inspired pieces help the kitchen feel like a real working space rather than a showroom.
The curtains soften the window area, and the botanical artwork adds a natural touch that complements the room's gentle color palette.
For me, a successful kitchen is not just about the cabinets and appliances. It's also about the little details that make the room feel lived in: something left on the counter, a favorite mug, a collection of jars, or a pretty vase of flowers.
The Dining Area: Soft Colors and Nostalgic Details
The dining area introduces some of the prettiest colors in the apartment. Mint-green chairs surround a table dressed in a rosy pink tablecloth, creating a cheerful and romantic little corner.
I love how the cooler green tones balance the warmth of the pink fabric. The combination feels nostalgic without becoming overly sweet.
Delicate botanical artwork decorates the walls, while the white curtains allow the room to feel bright and airy. A vintage-style telephone adds a playful touch and helps reinforce the apartment's old-fashioned charm.
The dining table is a simple place to gather, share a meal, or enjoy a cup of tea. It's a small detail, but I always like to imagine the everyday moments that might take place in the homes I create.
Bedroom One: A Soft and Romantic Retreat
The first bedroom continues the apartment's gentle vintage aesthetic, with delicate curtains, soft textiles, and traditional decorative pieces.
For this room, the custom content collection includes vintage mirrors, decorative candles, a classic dresser, a nightstand, and framed wall art. These details help build a layered interior without losing the room's peaceful atmosphere.
I love using small decorative objects in bedrooms because they make the space feel personal. A mirror on the dresser, a few old letters, a candle, or a favorite piece of artwork can make an otherwise simple room feel much more meaningful.
The goal is to create a comfortable retreat that feels connected to the rest of the apartment while allowing the bedroom to remain restful and intimate.
Bedroom Two: Another Little Corner of the Home
The second bedroom offers another opportunity to explore the vintage side of the apartment.
The custom content list for this room includes vintage wall art, a desk, a chair, a closet, a stool, and decorative accessories. Together, these pieces can help create a bedroom that feels practical while retaining the soft, nostalgic atmosphere of the overall renovation.
I always enjoy giving different rooms their own character. Even when a home follows one consistent style, small differences in furniture, artwork, and accessories can make each room feel unique.
The Bathroom: A Simple Finishing Touch
The apartment also includes one bathroom, completing the layout and providing the practical essentials for everyday Sim life.
When designing a bathroom, I like to balance functionality with the decorative style of the rest of the home. Even a small space can feel thoughtfully designed through its furniture, textiles, and finishing details.
The aim is to make the bathroom feel like a natural part of the apartment rather than an afterthought.

Final Thoughts: A Little Home Full of Character
This shabby chic renovation has been such a lovely project. I wanted to transform Stonestreet Apartment #3 into a home that feels warm, romantic, and full of personality, and I'm happy with the direction it's taken.
From the vintage-inspired living room to the charming kitchen and soft bedroom details, every space contributes to the overall atmosphere. The combination of neutral colors, delicate pastels, traditional furniture, and decorative accessories helps the apartment feel cohesive without making every room look the same.
For me, the most enjoyable part of building in The Sims 4 is imagining the everyday stories that might unfold in the homes I create. A beautiful interior becomes even more special when it feels like somewhere a Sim could genuinely live.
And now I'd love to hear from you!
